 Shout out to Gregg King, Branch Director with Propel Insurance here in Salem! He is truly there for us when we need him. We had to add a delivery driver FAST! Turns out our 23 year bartender, Jamie, wasn’t lying when he said he has a good driving record! (Who knew?) Gregg was able to get insurance approval same day... actually within a couple of hours. Thanks Gregg, my dear brother from different parents!

Geppetto’s gift cards are being purchased and put to great use! Thanks to Mountain West Investment Corporation and a couple of other anonymous donors, last Saturday, both night and day shift at Salem Hospital enjoyed yummy Geppetto’s pizza! Providing nourishment for those on the front lines is an honor. We are praying for their safety and good health. Early on in all of this... Blanchet Catholic School (also here in Salem) called to purchase gift cards for each of their faculty and staff members. We keep the list and gift cards here. Staff members call to redeem for takeout or delivery. Some have called to order, paid in full and offered their gift card to our First Responder Meal Fund! So thoughtful, generous and kind. There are wonderful humans on this planet. I’m happy we are here at the same time. Our Geppetto’s team, while under stress like everyone else, continues to seek joy in the midst of this trial. Yesterday, Pioneer Trust Bank ordered up 39 delicious lunches! They enjoyed pasta and sauce, personal pizzas, pasta salads and green salads. All individually packaged for everyone’s safety!
Pioneer Trust Bank is a Salem institution. It's where we bank. They truly care about the community and do much to offer support. As a matter of fact… I don’t think I’ve been to a fundraiser in town where I haven’t seen their name listed as a sponsor. When you think about it… they are, in a way, on the front lines too. Our dear friends, Tylee and Jeff, own several stores in the area; Hawthorne, Lancaster, Keizer Station and West Salem to name a few. I was there just in time for a virtual hug from Jeff. It was big! The sandwiches and cookies were fabu! The gal working at the Hawthorne store, Kara, was awesome! Subway may sound like a big name operation... but the stores are owned by local folks who are suffering too. Eat local! Eat Subway! I wonder where we will eat tomorrow? Tylee Linville Chipman and Jeff! "Are you still coming to get me?" That was the text message I received this morning from Marvin, one of our fabulous servers. He's cross trained in serving, kitchen prep and pizza. He needed a ride to the restaurant and I offered to pick him up in West Salem. We are open for lunch now on Saturday and Sundays. Marvin and our 23 year server/bartender, Jamie, are handling all delivery and takeout orders before 2:00. Well... wanting to support local business, hungry and craving Annette's in West Salem for breakfast food, I ordered up enough for the four of us and then some. I drove to pick up the food and returned in time to receive Marvin's text. I drove all the way to West Salem, picked up the food and forgot Marvin! We are all together now. Maddie is a nurse in Neuro Trama Care here at Salem Hospital. It is her job today to care for those who are sick and in pain. It is also her job to find the team, time and place for delivery.
