Firsts... Later in Life
It wasn’t till the age of forty, on an unforgettable trip to Ethiopia, that I developed a love for coffee. I’ve been seeking to recreate the feeling it gave ever since. I realize it might have been the people I was with that made it so special. Their coffee was ceremonious, an indulgence, beans roasted over a fire in the center of a soot stained tukul. There was plenty of time to visit as we waited for the cooking process to unfold. The end result was a small but powerful drink. I enjoy coffee daily now... I don’t drink much of it but each time I sip I remember being there. I remember the generosity and true hospitality of the folks who served and shared so completely.
It was also at forty that I discovered a little thing called a pedicure. Haven’t had one of those in a very long time. I'm maintaining... but non slip shoes with socks three-sixty-five kinda makes pedicures a waste of time and money!
Speaking of waist... I’m now fifty-five and have discovered biscuits and gravy! I didn’t care for them at all until Frank Primely started making them at Geppetto’s! Unique in flavor because of our proprietary sausage recipe. So delicious... But... my God!... it's biscuits and gravy... me thinks I need to pace myself.
Like those who served the coffee in Ethiopia... Frank makes food feel special. But... don’t tell him I said that. (winky face)
Breakfast is served at Geppetto’s from 9am-2:00pm Saturdays and Sundays. Lunch and dinner seven days a week from 11:00am-8pmish.
